Temitope Akinpetide, DNP, PMHNP-BC
Temitope (“Temi”) is a board certified doctoral prepared psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. She is passionate about delivering comprehensive and holistic care to patients which helps them lead healthy and happy lives.
She obtained her Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Maryland, Baltimore, and she is well equipped to work with her patient's needs to provide sound clinical and positive outcomes.
Medication management involves the proper prescription and making sure the patient usage is as prescribed. From Dr. Temi’s perspective, the goal of treatments, which she usually asks her patients' on their first appointment, is not only the reduction of symptoms, but she also helps patients to reach long-term and sustainable healing.
Dr. Temi's approach
Dr. Temi strongly believes in patient education, follow-ups, and providing continuity of care. She is attentive and she provides evidence-based care in a holistic approach by taking various factors into account. When Dr. Temi is with her patient, she takes her time listening to her patient’s needs as she thinks successful treatment is based on strong communication and collaborative work with patients.
With over 17 years of nursing background, Dr. Temi has extensive experience in treating mental health disorders such as Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, Bipolar etc in children, adolescents, and adults, and in various clinical settings.
Dr. Temi’s patients think Dr. Temi is personable and empathetic as she can understand and address patients’ concerns in a thoughtful way. It is her purpose to serve her patients in a compassionate and caring manner without judgement.
In her spare time, Dr. Temi enjoys traveling to expand her knowledge and experience with different cultures, attending events with live music and watching documentaries with her family.
