Peter "Brother" Modlin, LGPC, NCC
Brother Modlin is a passionate, caring, empathic driven therapist, with experience working with adolescents and families in several settings which included schools, client’s homes, offices and detention centers.
He has extensive experiences in working with children and adolescents, helping them managing trauma, anxiety and depression that many times manifested itself as a fight-flight-freeze response. His goal is to empower adolescents and parents in promoting a positive attitude, using a proactive collaborative approach guided by evidenced-based strategies, such as social-emotional learning, self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making.
His non-directive approaches to therapy makes the client feels comfortable working with him as he pays attention to client’s stories, puts himself into client’s shoes, and supports the client through the lens of unconditional positive regard.
Brother Modlin is specialized in using Reality Therapy, CBT and Play Therapy. The parents really appreciate Brother Modlin’s work as he bridges the gap between children and parents, enhances their communication, and helps children become more resilient, confident, and happier.
Brother Modlin is a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) in Maryland. He earned his master’s degree in School Counseling and has certification in Clinical Counseling from Johns Hopkins University.
